3 Rays Route to Marachech from Fez

Day 1: Fez > Ifrane > Medio Atlas > Erfoud > Merzouga

Picked up at your Hotel/riad in Fez, we head south to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains until we reach Ifrane, called “the little Moroccan Switzerland” due to its great resemblance to that country. One of the animals that formerly lived here was the Atlas lion, which is why it has become the symbol of the city and to which a stone statue has been dedicated in the center of it. We will take the opportunity to stop and take some photos. We will cross the famous cedar forests. We will be able to admire the Great Gouraud Cedar, the largest ancient cedar in the region and also feed the hundreds of Gibraltar monkeys that live in the area. Lunch in Midélt and from here the land becomes arid and full of spectacular geological formations and deep green valleys, such as the Ziz Valley. We will begin to see the typical adobe architecture, palm trees, some distant Kasbahs… we are at the gates of the desert. After an hour after Erfoud we arrive at the impressive Merzouga Dunes. Arrival at the hotel at the foot of the dunes, to leave in a camel caravan to enter the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset. We will arrive with the dromedaries to the camp where we will stay in Jaimas “Tents made with dromedary hair” like those used by desert nomads. Dinner and night in Jaimas in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars.

Day 2: Merzouga > Todra > Dades Valley

We will wake up early in the morning, to be able to contemplate another great spectacle among the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara: the sunrise. Once again you will climb on your camels to take another route back to the hotel. After a hearty breakfast and shower, we continued on our way to Rissani. We will walk through what is known as the most authentic and traditional souk in the area, and one of the largest in the south of the country, where all types of artisan products, food and animals are traded. We continue to the Todra Gorges, north of Tinghir, where you can take a pleasant walk through its imposing canyon walls more than 200 meters high to the source of the Todra River. We end the day arriving at the Dades Valley. Free time to walk through the valley gardens. Accommodation in the Dades Valley and dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Dades Valley > Ait Benhaddou > Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Marrakech. On the way we will cross the Valley of Roses and the city of Ouarzazate. Spectacular landscape that will take us to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the setting for more than twenty films, such as “Babel”, “Gladiator”, “Lawrence”. of Arabia”… Free tour of this impressive fortified town, where you can stroll through the streets contemplating the numerous craft shops (painting with spices, jewelry, carpets) until you reach the granary that crowns the kasbah. We will continue to Marrakech, on the way we will cross the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the port of Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road point in the country (2260m), making our way among numerous villages of Berber nomads that inhabit the mountains. Spectacular landscape that will take us to the city of Marrakech. Arrival in Marrakech. and Transfer to your hotel/riad in Marrakech, where our services end and the end of the trip.
